No current plans for a new album yet, but more tour dates for Aerosmith has been revelead!
While there has a lot of speculation about a new album for the rock band legend Aerosmith, guitarist Brad Whitford finally spoke about what's really going on with the band. "Blue Army" tour dates have also been revealed for June to August this year!
It has been popular knowledge the lead singer Steven Tyler has been working on his solo album that he's been wanting to do for a while now. With this, speculations now point towards nudging Aerosmith to come up with its own new album after new music has been made. While this brought fans to rejoice, it could not be the case, said guitarist Brad Whitford.
In a report by Ultimate Classic Rock, Whitford explained, "Steven is working on a solo album that he's been wanting to do for the last 20 years. I think a good deal of inspiration may come out of that - he may want to continue to write."
However, Whitford clarified that there isn't a new album for Aerosmith currently in the works to date. He said, "We're not currently in the studio or anything. We're not quite sure when we might get back," he added. "Maybe at some point this year we might record some new music. Currently, no plans."
Meanwhile, Aerosmith will be out on tour for the "Blue Army" Tour set from June to August across North America. There are 16 tour dates across locations, some of which will see Aerosmith for the first time. A complete list of tour dates for "Blue Army" is posted on Aerosmith's official site.
Steven Tyler, who is focused on his solo album and has gone to promote its arrival shared a bit about what Aerosmith really is and what's coming --- possibly a new album and more tours --- for what's known as America's greatest rock band. He said in a report by RollingStone, "We're a strange band. We're still the same members. No tapes, no synthesized drums onstage. I don't have six dancers with hot-ass booties and titties sticking out. We're true to our Aerosmith-ness."
"Aerosmith will probably do something again," Tyler continued. "I don't know for sure. I just know what I'm doing now."
