The menopausal stage of a woman is a natural phenomenon that every woman undergoes once in her lifetime. In every culture, there is a variety of experiences with menopause and with that,  there are also diverse experiences in every woman.

According to Wikipedia, Menopause is described as the permanent cessation of the function of human ovaries. In this society where women are regarded before as situated in the lower case of the social ladder, some issues pertaining to them are less tackled by groups in the community. It is very important, however, to make it clear to women today that menopause is something not to be ashamed of for it is part of womanhood.

Menopause may be experienced by women in various ways. Others may feel severe symptoms while others say that they feel normal. Working women or non-working women are of almost the same boat. They are all women who will undergo the so-called end of the line stage, menopause. They had been all anxious of this stage especially that they felt like they're losing their womanhood and they are afraid of what their husbands would think of them. However, this is but a normal phenomenon and eventually, each woman will go through the whole process.

According to Medical News Today, the main cause of menopause is linked to the change in the balance of the sex hormones in the body as a woman reaches a certain age. The ovaries will stop producing eggs and the monthly menstruation ceases. This is due to the limitation of estrogen and this causes symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings and even dryness in the vagina.

Usually, women who are experiencing menopausal symptoms are given Hormonal Replacement Therapy or HRT. However, doctors are recommending lifestyle changes that may alleviate symptoms. Simple modification in diet and exercise would also be helpful.
