Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe scared fans with rumors that they were going to break up in "Outlander."

Contrary to the reports that their characters will be separating, it looks like the Jamie-Claire split reference was only a joke.

Just this August, their good friend, "Once Upon A Time" actor Colin O'Donoghue and Heughan had a friendly banter on Twitter. These two TV actors were duking it out on online surveys as their attempt of figuring out who will be named the ultimate "Sci-Fi Champion," as Radio Times has reported.

As part of their argument, Heughan dared O'Donoghue to wear a kilt and post the photo on social media. O'Donoghue, who admits that "he has never shied away from a challenge," complied and posted a photo of himself while wearing the kilt.

Sam Heughan's co-star, Caitriona Balfe, saw the guys' banter and told the actor that O'Donoghue looked so much better wearing a kilt than him. The actor then joked and told Balfe that he wanted a breakup. "Divorce," he wrote. "No more 'Outlander!'"

Balfe, having "hurt" Heughan's feelings, pretended to soothe him and added that, although O'Donoghue looked better in a kilt, her co-star had a better body. The actor pretended to preen at this and joked that he would wear "pirate guy liner" in "Outlander" season 2 just to make her happy.

As proven by the Twitter exchange of "Outlander" stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, the two have certainly developed such a close bond. It has also become much clearer to the show's fan base that they both possess a fantastic sense of humor.

It has also been reported by Daily Record that "Outlander" show runners might have already found its actress for Brianna - the daughter of Heughan's Jamie Fraser and Balfe's Claire Randall. According to the report, Irish actress Maeve Foley was already chosen for Brianna. Although some fans were glad with this casting, others were not convinced that Foley was, indeed, going to be Brianna.

Apparently, there are also speculations that Foley was only going to be part of the show's crew. Others are also speculating that she will be part of the show, but only as a minor character.
