This week's installment in the series about the hero-for-fun opened with Genos' arrival in the evacuation center to save the people. He attacked the formidable Deep Sea King but was unable to defeat him.
The cyborg goes head to head with the sea monster and was able to use his powers such as his Lightning Eye and Machinegun Blows. However, these were not enough to defeat the Deep Sea King.
As reported previously, "One Punch Man" episode 9 revealed another gross power of the Deep Sea King. Apparently, his saliva is made of acid and would have melted the kid.
Fortunately, Genos was able to shield the girl with his body but the acid made him weak. The sea monster grabbed the cyborg by the head and was on his way to killing Genos when Mumen Rider arrived.
Mumen Rider knows that he couldn't win but still continued to fight. Saitama arrived just in time and even gave the hero a pep talk.
Saitama took down the Deep Sea King with his usual one-punch. Speed of Sound Sonic appeared briefly with his weapons but he was too late.
Genos and Saitama do some grocery shopping. The heroes arrived home to find some fan mail.
Saitama is accused of being a fraud who takes the credit for the other heroes' efforts. Apparently, after the Deep Sea King incident, there was a lot of discussion about powers and abilities.
One person thought that heroes have a job to do since the people are paying for the Hero Association. Saitama interrupted the argument and pointed out that he was the one who defeated the Deep Sea king.
According to Kpopstarz, One Punch Man basically admitted that he cheated so that the people will respect the heroes who tried to take on the sea monster. Saitama does receive one piece of uplifting fan mail in "One Punch Man" episode 9.
He also managed to become a class B hero. Afterwards, he met Mumen Rider who appeared to have been the one who sent Saitama the thank you letter.
