There seems to be some good news for Toyota lovers in India. The next-gen Toyota Innova will be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, New Delhi which will be held between Feb. 5-9, 2016 in Pragati Maidan.

As reported by carblogindia, the sale of this new model of Toyota Innova will start in the second half on 2016 between July and Dec. The new model of Innova looks much different from the current model.

The car industry experts have speculated that Innova 2016 will be more aggressive that the current 2014 model. The entire look is more masculine and with large windshields it gives an SUV like stance.

The headlamps look different with a box-type image. The side profile is quite different from the ongoing one.

As reported by India car news, the new Toyota Innova has already been launched in the Indonesian market. Toyota chose to launch this car first in the Indonesian market. For the Indonesian market it is available in three trim levels - G, V and Q - and 12 variants.

As per the present news, the India-bound 2016 Innova is likely to be priced between Rs. 10 lakh (for the base variant) and Rs. 16 lakh (for the top-spec model). There are petrol and diesel models for Toyota Innova.

The new 'GD' diesel engine will be 10% more efficient than the existing 'KD' engines (2.5-litre 2KD-FTV and 3.0-litre 1KD-FTV) and is expected to give a better mileage. The speculation is that the average will be 10 kmpl in city roads and 14 kmpl on the highways.

Owing to the rise in pollution levels in Delhi, the government was speculating not to allow new diesel cars to be registered in Delhi. As per the latest news reported in Hindustan Times, SUVs with engine capacity of 2000cc or higher will be banned.

However there was a plea filed by Toyota, Mahindra and Mahindra, and Mercedes requesting a revision of this order. These esteemed car manufacturers mentioned that their vehicles don't cause much pollution.
