A unique program for the couples is soon coming to the United States. The Divorce Hotel promises to offer soon-to-be exes an opportunity to file for divorce without spending too much money and while relaxing on the spa over a weekend.

The Divorce Hotel is a program that began in the Netherlands in 2011. Since then, more than 5 hotels have already served as venues. In the United States, the Netherlands-based company has chosen to partner with Gideon Putnam Resort located in Saratoga Springs, New York, mainly because of its ambiance that allows couples to rejuvenate themselves physically and mentally. The resort is also a well-known romantic getaway.

The program works through quick mediation. Couples work alongside a company-chosen attorney who will iron out the details of the divorce in a short time. Couples will also be checking in separate rooms.

Not all couples will be accepted into the program. They should be on speaking terms and open to settling the divorce in the most amicable manner. They should also be U.S. citizens. Furthermore, only attorneys trained to the program's process can serve as mediators, although the Divorce Hotel may provide more of them when necessary. Before the program ends, the documents should already be signed by the couples, which will then be presented to the judge for a stamp. This then marks the divorce as official.

The program, which shall begin this September and feature a reality show, may cost around $5,000. On the average, divorce costs $15,000. Guests can stay in suites at $500 per night and get a fabulous view of the nearby state park. They will also enjoy spa treatments during their stay.

Other divorce-oriented packages in the market today include a vacation deal offered by the Oasis of the Seas to divorced fathers who want to spend time with their children who may be in the custody of their mothers and don't get to see often.
