Melissa McCarthy's total weight loss over the past few months reportedly reached 75 pounds. A celebrity trainer spilled the comedian's diet secret in a new interview.
Nutritionist Charlene Ciardiello said that it doesn't take a lot of money and time to achieve the "Spy" star's new body.
In Touch Weekly interviewed Ciardiello who shared McCarthy's secret as she said that eating judiciously with a little bit of exercise would do great wonders to shedding off the excess pounds.
"Hit the pavement or treadmill for 20 to 30 minutes, alternating between walking or jogging for a minute, then running or sprinting for a minute," she said, adding that "eating salads and healthy proteins" should also be included in the regimen.
An insider also told In Touch Weekly that Melissa McCarthy's weight loss started when she trained for her role in "Spy."
"Melissa never expected to drop all this weight," the source alleged. "She has no intention of losing any more, but if by following the same plan, it drops off, she's not going to complain."
Meanwhile, McCarthy dished on the weight loss training she underwent while preparing for her role in "Spy."
"The second I knew I was doing the movie, I started training with an amazing martial arts instructor," she shared to Life & Style magazine.
"It may be the best thing I've ever done," she added. "I feel amazing!"
But then a change in mindset was also necessary to ease off the pressure of the weight loss.
"I truly stopped worrying about it," she added. "I think there's something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked."
Melissa McCarthy showcased the results of her weight loss training during the Golden Globes red carpet event where she showed up with husband, Ben Falcone.
"The mother of two lovely daughters, Vivian, 8, and Georgette, 5, showed off her killer new bod in a a shimmering blue dress," said Hollywood Life.
