Popular rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers is going to perform in Los Angeles on Feb. 5 to benefit Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. The band is currently busy working on their new untitled album, expected to be released in 2016.

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea took to social media on Wednesday to announce the news.

"So excited to be playing this concert for Bernie Sanders next week," Flea wrote on social media, according to MLive.

"Feels great to support someone I believe in. The Rhcp offered to give him the money to pay for the theater that night but he wouldn't accept, he only accepts small donations from individuals. Every other politician greedily grabs every cent they can get from any scumbag lobbyist."

Flea praised the U.S. senator from Vermont as a man with integrity.

"This is a man with integrity," he continued. "If you can please buy the expensive seats to help out the campaign. Thank you so much. Bernie sanders for president."

The benefit concert dubbed "Feel the Bern" will be held at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The venue is located at 929 South Broadway.

According to Loudwire, tickets for the concert will go on sale the day of the show, ranging from $30 to $2,700. For more information click here.

Drummer Chad Smith recently posted an update on Facebook sharing the band had completed recording an entire song in just four hours.

"Cut a new peppers song top 2 bottom in 4 hrs last nite! #onaroll," Chad wrote.

The new Red Hot Chili Peppers album is expected to get released sometime in 2016. The band will kick off their tour dates at Ohio's Rock on the Range festival in Columbus from May 21-23.
