Los Angeles Clippers' star player and fan favorite Blake Griffin could be headed out of Los Angeles as the trade deadline approaches.

The former slam dunk champion and multiple NBA All-Star has been dealing with injuries this season and has recently injured his hand after throwing a punch as reported by Yahoo! Sports

The team's forward will be out for a few weeks due to the injury but many suspect the injury to last more than 2 months.

As the report states, the incident happened in an off-court altercation between Griffin and the team's equipment manager.

"A situation among friends escalated and I regret the way I handled myself towards someone I care about," Griffin wrote in a statement on Twitter. "I want to apologize to the Clippers organization, my teammates and the fans for creating a distraction."

The team's owner Steve Balmer and Doc Rivers released a statement that said "This conduct has no place in our organization and this incident does not represent who we are as a team. We are conducting a full investigation with assistance from the NBA. At the conclusion of the investigation, appropriate action will be taken."

Aside from games missed, the incident itself has the rumors surfacing that there is indeed a chemistry issue with the team. With Griffin being the player with the highest trade value, the team could move on without the superstar by gaining a star or multiple assets that could help them compete.

According to sbnation.com, a possible trade could send Griffin to the Miami Heat for Chris Bosh and rookie Justise Winslow. The report states that Griffin would be a perfect centerpiece for the rebuilding Heat team and a great recruiting piece for pending free agents.

Bosh, on the other hand, would allow the Clippers to space the floor and let DeAndre Jordan stay in the paint. In addition, Winslow would be a major upgrade at their depleted wing position.
