Given the Boston Celtics wealth of assets in draft picks and young talent, the team is highly rumored to make a big trade as the deadline approaches.
According to celticsblog.com, the team is looking at potentially trading for Al Horford and Jeff Teague.
CSNNE's Chris Mannix said on his show that teams have been trying to trade for the 2 former All-Stars.
"I've heard that Boston's inquired about several players with Atlanta, Teague and Al Horford," Mannix said. "Teague might seem like a weird fit with this team because they already have point guards, but he is an asset, He's someone the Celtics could be interested in."
"Horford, a little more difficult. It would be a gamble going after Al Horford because Al Horford is in the last year of his deal and he's going to command a salary north of $20 million next year. But as we know and as I just said, (president of basketball operations) Danny Ainge is a gambling GM. He could make a move like that, too," he added.
It has been stated by sbnation.com that Teague was being shopped due to his recent play and the rise of back up Dennise Schroder. The German 22-year old is currently averaging 10.9 points and 4.8 assists per game as Teague's back up. Moreover, the Hawks have been outscoring their opponents by 10.8 points per 100 possessions when Schroder is on the floor.
After being named an All-Star last year for the first time in his career, Teague's overall statistics numbers have gone down significantly. This season, the point guard has only been averaging 14.3 points and 5.6 assists and shooting at an inefficient 41 percent from the field. In addition, he has had struggles with a recurring ankle injury.
The biggest offer from the Celtics would be the Brooklyn Nets' pick, David Lee's expiring contract and Avery Bradley.
