The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has an updated design that is a bit disappointing to some fans.

The newest smartphone by Samsung has been leaked and will be released in just three weeks. While the specs are something to look out for, the uninspiring design may be its downfall.

According to Forbes, a world famous smartphone tipster, Evan Blass, with the Twitter handle @evleaks revealed that the S7 smartphone will be released in North America on March 11, 2016. While this may be all speculations, it is reportedly consistent with the release date of the previous Samsung Galaxy models where the S6 was launched on April 10, 2015 and the S5 on April 11, 2014.

The leak from China Mobile also fits the same time frame that Blass had tweeted. It should also be considered that eastern markets usually get a headstart when it comes to smartphone releases by Samsung.

Aside from the much awaited release date of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the design update of the phone is also being watched out for since the competitors are churning out sleeker designs.

Unfortunately, consumers may be disappointed with the design aesthetic this time as the S7 Edge looks almost identical to the S6 Edge. While there are reportedly some differences like the curves at the edges are more pronounced and the top and bottom bezels are much thinner, it is practically the same phone.

This may save up on time but the sales of the new smartphone may drop if Samsung doesn't convince its consumers that getting the newest phone is worth it.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge update is rumored to have 32GB of storage, will run on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, have a 12 MP primary camera and a 5 MP front camera and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM.

Gotta Be Mobile reported that both phones will still have the Quad-HD AMOLED display and the S7 will have a 5.1-inch screen. There are no reports on the S7 Edge's screen size but it is expected that the design update will be very similar to its predecessors.
