The Hollywood actress supports working mothers as they do not risk living vicariously through their children. Also, the whole family benefits when a mother has a creative outlet apart from taking care of her children.
According to Daily Mail UK, the 48-year old Australian actress shared that working after having children actually has its benefits. She said that she is the happiest when she is with her two daughters Sunday and Faith and makes sure that she doesn't stay home too long.
"I don't want to be the mother who lives vicariously through my daughters, so I'm trying to balance it," she told the Harper's Bazaar magazine. "There was a period where I didn't do anything, and my mum said, 'I really think you need to get back and do something'."
"I want to be around them, I'm the happiest when I'm around them, It's that simple. But for me to completely give up doing any of this, what would I do artistically?"
In addition to that, she shared that having a creative outlet is very beneficial for her since she gets to balance out being a mom and being the artist that she is. Nicole Kidman's husband, Keith Urban, is a singer and understands the creative lifestyle which is perhaps the reason why they have been together for 10 years.
