Patrick Dempsey and wife Jillian Fink may have called off their divorce but news and rumors have it the reunited couple are taking their second shot at their marriage slow.
According to an item on Radar Online, the makeup artist apparently called the shots after retracting their divorce.
"It was devastating when they split and he's still not out of the woods yet," an insider told the source above. "Jillian wants to take things slow, as though they were dating for the first time, and rebuild from scratch before renewing their vows."
Among the purported stipulations on their reunion was for the "Grey's Anatomy" actor's racing to take the backseat and his family to become his first priority.
"Patrick thinks it's a shame to have to quit racing," the source revealed. "He loves that woman and they've gone through so much together, and he's doing everything she asks him to do."
While it hasn't been confirmed what prompted Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink to take a second shot at their marriage, news reports said the "Sweet Home Alabama" actor has reportedly indeed been taking some break from racing.
After pulling out from a racing event in New Zealand this month, the racer was also absent from a Daytona event over the weekend.
As told by News-JournalOnline, Dempsey did not grace the Rolex 24 event for the first time in years. Sportscar365 has reported as well back in December that the actor was "unlikely to drive in 2016" as he needed to focus "on family and acting commitments."
Buzz of a possible Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink reconciliation began when they were spotted in Paris holding hands last November. News that the couple has called off their divorce surfaced exactly a year after they announced their separation.
"There are no more divorce plans," a source told People magazine last month. "Patrick and Jillian plan on being a family again."
