"It was a total queen-off," is how Emily Blunt described the new "The Hunstman Winter's War" movie, where she will play the role of Freya, The Ice Queen, in the spin-off movie of "Snow White and the Huntsman" with Charlize Theron, according to E!Online.
After a rather controversial "Snow White and the Huntsman" movie due to a scandal involving Kristen Stewart and the film's previous director Rupert Sanders, the sequel is now back on screen with new cast members and a new plot.
However, this time, Snow White will not be part of the story and a new director will lead the team, Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, according to Vine Report.
"The Huntsman Winter's War" movie will reprise the roles of Christ Hemsworth as the huntsman and Charlize Theron as Ravenna, the evil queen. It will also feature new star casts like Jessica Chastain, who will play a female warrior role, and Emily Blunt who will be the main villain of the sequel, the Ice Queen, as reported by The Bit Bag.
Here are excerpts of the official synopsis of "The Huntsman Winter's War" movie, as shared by Screen Rant.
"Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White's blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom," the synopsis reads.
"With Freya's ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen-including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain)-only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love."
Now that there are two queen villains present in the movie, it will surely be a royal treat for the movie's fans.
"There were two crowns on set and you don't want that," Emily Blunt told Marc Malkin, according to E!Online.
"The Hunstman Winter's War" is set to be released on April 22.
