Satoshi Isshiki announced in the Polar Star Dormitory that he is about to lose his seat in the Elite Ten. However, he forwarded a proposal before his tenure ends that was actually approved by Azami. Isshiki's proposal (named after him) focuses on the upcoming purge of societies and research organization and it will use outside judges to ensure fairness. The society's survival is also based on the Shokugeki with an odd number of judges.
With the announcement, the Polar Star Dormitory planned their reconnaissance in Shokugeki to ensure they could handle the challenge. Before Souma leaves the dorm, he visited Erina first to inform her of their plans. Although Erina was clearly troubled by learning her model chef is actually Souma's father, Souma tells her that she should not be bothered with the information.
The latest chapter is practically a set-up for the next arc where every society has to put up their best n order to survive the purge.
