Kanye West's influence is not only limited to music as he has expanded his name in fashion.
His name is mainly associated with music but he has been busy for the past few years with his shoe line which is quickly becoming a fashion (and financial) statement. The Oxford Tan Yeezy Boost, the latest series on his Yeezy 350 Boost, became one of the most sought after shoes in the market before 2015 ended.
The popularity and demand for Kanye's shoes are no joke. Complex reported that eBay transactions on West's shoe line amounted to a whopping $12 million. The price it commands is undeniably staggering since Complex noted that "five Yeezys made more money on eBay in 2015 than the 12 most hyped Air Jordan sneakers combined."
The total transactions do not even count the Oxford Tan edition since it was released late in 2015. Highsnobiety also reported that Yeezy's shoes are part of the top 10 dollar-earners last year. The only shoe that outclassed Yeezy in terms of sales is Air Jordan 11.
The Oxford Tan 350 Boost, if counted along with the latest releases, could be at par when it comes to pricing. As of this writing, a single pair of Oxford Tan is available for a whopping price of up to $2,500 ($3,500 if you buy now) on eBay.
Of course, the price tag doesn't mean everyone will definitely enjoy a pair of Yeezy sneakers. A video on YouTube recently gone viral featuring a grandmother unboxing a pair of Yeezy Boost 350 Oxford Tan sneakers.
Her reactions are priceless especially when she looked at the price tag and says, "Oh Jesus!" She ultimately asks the person behind the camera to take it back. But that doesn't mean she hates Kanye as she proclaimed that she still likes his rap music which is a good thing because Kanye is about to release his album "Waves" on February 11.
