The third episode for the "One Punch Man" original video anime has been teased online.
Anime News Network reported that the official website for the "One Punch Man" anime has streamed the first half minute of the project's third OVA on Tuesday. It focuses on Speed of Sound Sonic as he recovers from his defeat from Saitama.
The video opened with Speed of Sound Sonic battling a monster, which only appears as a silhouette. The next scene showed the monster punching Sonic's crotch. This reflected what Saitama unknowingly did to the ninja in "One Punch Man" episode 4.
Apparently, Sonic was only having a nightmare and relived the agony of his defeat from Saitama. An old man then comes to him and talks to him about the hero for fun.
The upcoming OVA is entitled "Kojiresugiru Ninja" ("The Overly Complicated Ninja"). It is another original story written by "One Punch Man" manga creator ONE.
It was previously reported that Speed of Sound Sonic's OVA will be in the series' third DVD/Blu-Ray set. The series has kicked up promotion for volume 3, which will be shipped on Feb. 24.
It will include episodes 5 and 6 along with a commentary for the latter by Saitama's Makoto Furukawa, Genos' Kaito Ishikawa as well as Sonic's Yuki Kaji. A CD featuring the three characters in "Fastest, Strong Ninja Emakimono Gaiden" and Yuki Kaji singing a traditional Ondo song as Sonic will also be in the "One Punch Man" anime third DVD/Blu-Ray set.
Meanwhile, "One Punch Man" season 2 will reportedly be aired anywhere between 2016 and 2018 according to Design&Trend. The publication noted that it anime production usually takes six to 12 months and anime creator Yusuke Murata has not announced that the project has begun.
Moreover, Murata and ONE's work on the show is only a hobby so it seems like they are in no rush to finish "One Punch Man" season 2. The team behind the anime is also working on a limited budget which could be one of the reasons for the delay.
