Deftones has finally revealed an artwork for their new album titled "Gore," which is scheduled for release in April.
The band has posted a series of pictures of pink flamingos flying in the air on their official Instagram page. The pictures were released in a particular way to create a collage on the band's Instagram page.
The post included the title "Gore," which confirmed that the photo indeed is the chosen artwork for Deftones new album, reported NME.
Furthermore, the band also announced that the follow-up to 2012's "Koi No Yokan" will be released in April.
During an interview with ESP Guitars at the National Association of Music Merchants trade show, guitarist Stephen Carpenter revealed the release date of the band's eighth studio album.
"[We're] sitting around waiting for the release of our new record," Carpenter said, reported NME. "It comes out April 8th. We have some dates in Texas in March, in May to June we're off to Europe for some festivals out there. We'll play for all the people who are interested and want to hear it."
The band also released a short teaser of the first single from their new album, "Gore," on their official website.
Frontman Chino Moreno announced in another interview that there will be 16 songs in the Deftones new album.
He revealed that the band's upcoming album would be more technical.
"I feel like it's a little more technical, maybe," Moreno said, reported Blabbermouth.
"We're constantly trying to see how far we could take things in different directions. That's what keeps you entertained."
Elsewhere, Deftones will be performing at Wembley Arena on June 3, which was rescheduled due to the attacks at an Eagles Of Death Metal gig in Paris in November last year.
