The widely popular Netflix show, "Narcos," which tells about the life and trials of Colombia drug lord Pablo Escobar has had fans of the series wanting for more. It was already hinted that the "Narcos" season 2 release date will be sometime in August.
Fans of the show were worried that the show's second season may encounter some delays as they are left without a showrunner.
Master Herald said that Adam Fierro has left his post as the show's showrunner leaving the "Narcos" season 2 release date a question left hanging. While it was already teased that filming for the crime drama series has already started in Bogotá, Colombia but Fierro's departure from the series has left some snags in production.
iDigitalTimes reported that another possible reason for the indefinite "Narcos" season 2 release date was that the storyline was rather delicate. While the first season spanned a decade into Pablo Escobar's life, the second season is basically a countdown toward Escobar's final days.
For now, no one is acting as the showrunner as "Narcos" has left the position vacant. Jose Padilha and Eric Newman will be back to act as the show's executive producers. Padilha is the show's director and Newman has been credited as the show's executive producer since season 1.
Newman did say that the plot of season 2 would ultimately end in Escobar's death. Wagner Moura has managed to portray Escobar's character with such mysticism. The Brazilian actor has learned Spanish to play the role of the Colombian drug kingpin.
Since the second season revolves around Escobar's last days, a possible storyline for "Narcos" season 3 might be Colombia's ongoing battle with Colombia's drug cartels, especially the Cali Cartel.
The "Narcos" season 2 release date will be sometime in August 2016.
