Unfortunately, game developer Double Fine still hasn't done any developments with respect to the "Psychonauts 2" as they apparently are still waiting on more than half of the $3.3 million crowdfunding cash.

Earlier last month, Double Fine closed the crowfunding "Psychonauts 2" campaign using Fig that successfully raised over $3.8 million coming from 24,000 sponsors.

The crowdfunding platform, Fig, as beforehand reported, permit supporters to also serve as an investors and at the same time, to acquire any share of whatever profits the game might make.

However, it would only allow non-accredited people to invest in its games alongside SEC-accredited investors.

Be that as it may, it seems that successfully closing the crowdfunding campaign is not yet the end of the story for Double Fine Productions, as the latter issue is that the almost $1.9 million cash pledged towards the title remains in limbo.

Gamasutra, in its report, reveal that the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) must approve the equity investment first, amount to half of the total cash with a series of clarifications.

"The SEC filing must be qualified before we can collect the investment reservations placed by unaccredited investors," a Fig spokesperson told Polygon.

"We received commented back from the SEC on January 17th, which was 26 days after we made our filing, and the number of comments we received were low. As a result, we currently expect to be able to complete the unaccredited process in the next 4 to 8 weeks," it added.

Nonetheless, Crowdfund Insider reveal that the aggregate budget for the long-awaited game, "Psychonauts 2" is between $10 and $13.5 million, where the funds are coming from Double Fine, the Fig campaign and an unnamed investor.

Considering such big allotment, it seems that the long-awaited sequel is definitely another epic video game filled with a lot of fun and adventures. Stay tuned for more news and updates!
