Marvel's "Deadpool" is ready to come out this year and fans are already anticipating the debut film of beloved character Wade Wilson. The foul-mouthed hero will be played by "The Green Lantern" and "Definitely Maybe" actor Ryan Reynolds.
After the release of the trailer, fans were already treated to seeing one of the supposedly main characters in the film Colossus. The member of the X-Men will be played by actor Andre Tricoteux.
According to cinemablend.com, Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool, said that Colossus will be an integral part of the film. Liefeld said "You guys have seen a glimpse of him in the trailer; at San Diego in Hall H, they showed a little bit more of Colossus...You are going to love Colossus in Deadpool. He's in it a good amount; he doesn't just walk through the movie."
Colossus appeared in the previous "X-Men" films but was mostly a cameo to appease fans of the storied franchise. The former actor who played the mutant was Daniel Cudmore. It's been reported that Colossus will have a major impact in the "Deadpool" storyline.
Fans got excited because of the leaked footage and trailer which showed Deadpool already making vulgar taunts towards the fan favorite mutant. As per collider.com, Reynolds spoke about how he loved playing the character and the dark tone of this upcoming film.
"I just think there's nothing else that occupies a space quite like it in any universe, in any comic book universe, and it's been like that for a long time, um, so in a weird way waiting might have served us better than anything, because now's the time for a movie like this in a way that five, six, seven years ago might not have been," Reynolds said about playing Deadpool.
He then said, "Well, every comic book movie I go to nobody fucking dies!" This has led many people to believe that Reynolds could be referring to one of the major characters perishing in the film. Rumors have surfaced that Colossus could be the one to go as it has been hinted several times that his character will have a major impact in the film.
