The hit political thriller series "Homeland" has already gone to the Middle East (in Afghanistan and Pakistan), to Europe and for Season 6, the show will be set in New York and according to reports, it will get influences from the real-life 9/11 tragedy.

In its report, International Business Times said that there's a great chance that "Homeland" Season 6 will make the unforgettable 9/11 tragedy since the show is based in U.S. The report added that although the terroristic attack happened many years ago, "Homeland" may be dealing with issues related to the incident.

Melty shared this point as it said that the "wounds" of 9/11, considering its magnitude, has never and will never fully heal. The attacks of September 11 is still an issue in New York and definitely still relevant, especially with the war against terrorism still ongoing.

It added that Alex Gansa, exec producer and creator of "Homeland," has always been a strong advocate of broaching topics that many would not dare tackle hence it is really possible that 9/11 will be a recurring theme throughout Season 6.

Melty also mentioned in its report that they are hoping to see a viral video of Donald Trump dancing the Macarena in one of the Season 6 episodes.

"Homeland will be shot next year in New York City, in and around New York," "Homeland" executive producer David Nevins said during the Television Critics Association press tour. "It will be set domestically. It will be set primarily in the New York area, but not exclusively."

David Nevins also said that this time, the team decided to shoot in New York because they wanted to do another American story after they already have set the show in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Europe in the past seasons.

"Also, I think the actors will be happy to be back in the U.S. for a year," he added. "I don't think it's necessarily going to stay there forever, but there was a strong interest in doing a domestic story from the creative team."
