The reunion of Guns N Roses has been confirmed, but does this mean the band is going back together this 2016 for good?
Fans have been waiting to hear the age-old rumor on Guns N Roses reunion and finally, it has been confirmed. While previous reports have revealed that a Guns N Roses reunion may not happen this 2016, according to a report by UltimateClassicRock, the legendary members will come together to perform.
"Slash and Duff McKagan are indeed returning to the band," it said. "There is no word as to who else will join those three for these performances, nor any word on any further touring or recording plans for the trio," added the report.
This semi-reunion is for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this coming April. The statement from the legendary Guns N Roses members was revealed by the same report: "Upholding a three-decade tradition of breaking ground, creating trends, and forever changing the face of rock 'n' roll, Guns N' Roses announce the most significant and anxiously awaited musical event of this century," said in the statement.
"Founder Axl Rose and former members Slash and Duff McKagan will regroup to headline the Coachella Music & Arts Festival," it added.
Guns N Roses fans have rejoiced at the reunion news since this was revealed. However, while 2016 is already looking to be promising for the world of music, there are still those who oppose the reunion news.
A report by TeamRock revealed Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen talking about the Guns N Roses reunion to be a wee bit "lame." Guns N Roses members had been separated because Slash and Axl Rose had a falling out, Collen pointed out that Def Leppard they had a death in the band, but they remained together.
"I love Guns N' Roses, I think they're really cool, I'd love to see Slash and Axl and Duff play together, that's great," he pointed out. "But I think it's fucking lame considering we've been hardcore. Our integrity's still intact, we've never split up. We've gone through if someone had a little sniffle or something, we soldier on."
Meanwhile, as the Guns N Roses reunion is confirmed, fans aren't quite keen on the band's reformation. BBC pointed out the band's flaws, which basically boil down to it being a negative influence on its fans. Then again, what's so bad about being rebellious?
Great for the 2016 reunion, but what do you think about Guns N Roses reforming?
