The NBA trade rumors continue and a new player appears to be on the block and being eyed by some contenders.

Channing Frye of the Orlando Magic is starting to become intriguing as the salary cap spike next deal will make his contract very reasonable. Frye is a stretch four (or stretch five) and his shooting will help teams to take a step closer to the next level.

One of the best fits for Frye is the Detroit Pistons, and no less than the ESPN Insiders mentioned it. The question addressed is on which Eastern NBA playoff candidate team should make a trade.

"Detroit," Amin Elhassan answered. "Despite being in the top third of the league in 3-point makes (and attempts), they're in the bottom third in 3-point percentage. It's no secret that Stan Van Gundy likes to play "four out" and spread the floor, which is why we've heard of Detroit's interest in New Orleans' Ryan Anderson."

Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy is a master of using the stretch four as shown in his 2009 Finals appearance with the Orlando Magic. This is why Ryan Anderson was suggested, but they have a better option.

Elhassan added: "A more available target might be Orlando's Channing Frye, who has the added benefit of a cap-friendly deal for the next two seasons."

Another site, Hoops Habit, evaluated possible destinations for Frye as he's on the block, and they also listed the Pistons at no.1.

"The Pistons need more perimeter shooting and may not be interested in re-signing Jennings this summer; the Magic want to unload Frye somewhere and would ideally like future draft compensation in return," HH said. "If the two sides are able to haggle out a fair price on the "draft compensation" front, this deal would be a win for both sides."
