"One Punch Man" manga creator, ONE, has a new anime entitled "Mob Psycho 100."
Anime News Network reported that the official website for the "Mob Psycho 100" anime by "One Punch Man" manga creator, ONE, has released the teaser video for the upcoming show. It also confirmed the main cast and crew of the series.
The "Mob Psycho 100" anime is directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa of "Death Parade." "Ajin's" Hiroshi Seko is in-charge of the series' script and character design is supervised by "One Punch Man" animation director Yoshimichi Kameda.
The sound director is Kazuhiro Wakabayashi, who has previously worked on "Eureka Seven," "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" and "Soul Eater." Kenji Kawai will take charge over the anime's music.
Setsuo Ito will portray the "Mob Psycho 100" anime protagonist, Kageyama "Mob" Shigeo. Takahiro Sakurai will take on Reigen Arataka, Mob's fraud psychic mentor, according to Crunchyroll.
The "Mob Psycho 100" anime will revolve around Mob, a boy who explodes if his emotional capacity reaches 100%. He has psychic abilities and earned his nickname since he does not stand out in a crowd.
Mob tries to keep his powers bottled up in order to live normally. However, if his emotional level reaches 100%, something takes over his body.
"One Punch Man" manga creator ONE launched the "Mob Psycho 100" series in 2012. It was released later in 2014 on Shogakukan's MangaOne app. The 11th compiled book volume of the manga series has been published last December by Shogakukan.
The "Mob Psycho 100" anime came about due, in part, of ONE's success with "One Punch Man."
Moreover, last year, the manga series was one of the few titles that received the most votes for an anime adaptation.
Kotaku noted that the upcoming anime "is filled with a wry visual style." The adaptation is handled by studio Bones. It is slated for release this year.
