Motorola Moto X 2016, the fourth generation in the Moto X series, is one of the most anticipated smartphones this year, following the success of Moto X Play and Moto X Pure Edition last year.
Android Pit, in its report, highlighted some of the rumored specs and features of the much-awaited Motorola Moto X 2016.
According to Android Pit, Moto X 2016 will be coming with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, the same processor that is expected of the upcoming "flagship killer" OnePlus 3. The new processor, accordingly, is expected to boost the power of these new smartphones.
In a leaked picture by Chinese website Techweb, the internals of the new handset for Motorola Moto X 2016, aside from the rumored new processor, includes a copper-colored, L-shaped heat pipe to address overheating issues of the previous handsets.
The report added that according to Lenovo Group Senior Vice President Chen Xudong, in a translation from a Chinese website, upcoming new Motorola products will have a minimum screen size of 5 inches. Moto X Pure Edition had a 5.7-inch screen, Moto X Play a 5.5-inch screen and Moto X Force with a 5.4-inch screen hence according to Android Pit, Moto X 2016 is expected to have a size that will fall into this range.
Furthermore, in a leaked design published by Chinese website Wapvnet, Moto X 2016 looks a little different from the previous models as it sports a metallic back. There is a camera on the back and the stereo speakers are at the bottom of the handset while the volume rockers are on the right side of the phone.
The logo seems to be at the same position like the previous models but the difference is that it is flat, unlike the depressed logotypes in the past.
Android Pit also said that Moto X 2016 may finally have a high-end fingerprint scanners, highly requested by users for increased security.
