Benedict Cumberbatch's "Sherlock" on BBC has become one of the most popular TV series from the UK because of its smart adaptation of the beloved Detective in the modern settings.
Of course, when you have Stephen Moffat, the head honcho of the current "Dr. Who," the series will definitely have an interesting narrative.
The popularity of the BBC series is now taking over manga. According to Anime News Network, "Titan Comics announced at the ComicsPRO Retailers Summit in Portland, Oregon on Friday that it will publish the Japanese manga adaptation of the BBC series Sherlock episode 'A Study in Pink' in the United States and the United Kingdom."
For the unfamiliar, "A Study in Pink" is the title of the series' first episode which features the mysterious death of individuals who seemed to have committed suicide for no apparent reason. The first episode also marks the first meeting of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson set in the modern times. Even the cover page of the manga nearly copy the look of Benedict Cumberbatch in the BBC TV series.
Fans of the modern take on the beloved TV series should take note of the upcoming manga. The upcoming manga may hold some key information that was not noticed in the TV series especially on the first episode where everyone is preoccupied with character establishment instead of looking for clues.
Entertainment Weekly reports, "the new series, which will be available in print as well as on digital devices, will also feature extended page counts, new covers and art by acclaimed talent, including Alice X Zhang ('Doctor Who,' 'The Blacklist')."
The manga adaptation of the first episode focused on the adventures of the modern Sherlock is due on June. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman returns for the fourth season of the popular TV series from BBC in 2017.
