Square Enix's "Rise of the Tomb Raider" is finally coming to PlayStation 4. The highly anticipated game for Sony's console will be available for PlayStation 4 gamers on December 30, 2016 - barely a year after the game was released for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Gamers with PlayStation 4 can now pre-order the game at Amazon. The PlayStation 4 pre-orders immediately went live as soon as the PC version became available for download, according to Daily Star.
The initial announcement of the game's exclusive release on Microsoft's Xbox surprised a lot of gamers. However, it was later cleared out that the exclusive deal with Microsoft will only last a year.
In a report by Game Rant, gamers for PlayStation 4 was surprised when the announcement indicates an exclusive deal with Microsoft. But the game "was later revealed to be a timed exclusive for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, not an outright exclusive.
The title will hit Microsoft's platforms first in 2015, but it will eventually hit PC and PlayStation some time later."
While the game may have been delayed for PS4 gamers, they could, at least, get a glimpse of the game they were about to purchase. Fortunately, it seems that the expectations for "Rise of the Tomb Raider" was on the spot as reviews were mostly positive.
IGN scored the game 4.5 stars out of 5 noting, "'Rise of the Tomb Raider' raises the bar set by Lara's last outing with a rollicking adventure story, strong villains, gorgeous vistas, and smart puzzles - go off the main path to find the best stuff in dastardly optional tombs."
PC Gamer rates the game at 4 stars out of 5, "'Rise of the Tomb Raider' is peak sequel design: an incredibly similar game with a set of expanded and additional systems. But RotTR is also better because it lets you spend more time engaging with those systems."
