It seems Metallica's new album release might get delayed to next year as guitarist Kirk Hammett has revealed that most of the new album's tracks are yet to be finished.
Hammett said, in an interview with Rolling Stone, that Metallica has "a bunch of songs, more than enough songs" for their new album but none are finished.
"The band is moving at a pace that allows us to live our lives and not have our lifestyles change too much," the guitarist said, reported NME.
"We're slogging away. But you know, it's metal. It's heavy."
In another interview, Hammett had revealed that the new Metallica album has a good chance of being rolled out in 2016 or early 2017.
"I don't wanna say that we're a third into it, or two-thirds into it, or an eighth into it, 'cause anything could happen that'll just change that number," the guitarist explained, according to Loudwire.
"But, eventually, you will see a new Metallica album, and it will most likely be in 2016, and at the very worst, at the beginning of 2017."
Elsewhere, Metallica has recently announced that they are going to officially re-release their first two albums titled "Kill 'Em All" and "Ride The Lightning" on April 15, reported BlabberMouth.
Both the two albums will be available on CD, vinyl and Deluxe Box sets remastered for the most advanced sound quality.
The Deluxe "Kill 'Em All" box set will include five CDs, four vinyl records, one DVD, a deluxe book including unseen photos and a patch.
The "Ride The Lightning" deluxe box set will also include six CDs, four vinyl records, one DVD, a deluxe book including some rare pictures, a set of three posters and an exclusive small book of lyrics handwritten by James Hetfield.
It is to be noted that the deluxe box sets are limited edition collectors' items. Currently, both the deluxe box sets are available for pre-orders at the Met Store. The items will also be made available at local record store on Friday, April 15.
