Lea Michelle seems to be unlucky in love - having lost Cory Monteith over drug overdose back in 2013 and now her breakup with Matthew Paetz has been confirmed. The 29-year-old actress and the 30-year-old aspiring model dated for almost two years before calling it quits.
However, it seems to be a one way thing as Paetz allegedly dumped the former "Glee" star with no warning at all. According to E! News, the dating coach suddenly left his girlfriend and refuses to speak with her or anyone close to her.
"She got no reason or explanation for the split," an insider revealed.
Lea Michelle must have been shocked by her breakup with Matthew Paetz since she refused to believe that he is a user. The model used to work in a male companionship service for women, but she still accepted him despite the warning of her friends.
"Lea wanted to believe in love and wanted to believe the good in him. She didn't think he should be punished for his past," their source said. "He ended up being an opportunist who took advantage and broke up with her in a very heartless way."
Matthew Paetz isn't the only one to blame for his breakup with Lea Michelle. Some of their friends believe that the career of the "Scream Queens" actress affected their relationship. It must have been a transition for her having lost Cory Monteith and graduating from "Glee."
"Lea spent a lot of time complaining about not getting enough work," an insider told HollywoodLife.com. "She was incredibly difficult to be around, very negative and took it out on Matthew. There was only so much he could endure. Eventually he just had enough."
To make things worse, Lea Michele thought that she will finally get married to Matthew Paetz. She was expecting to get engaged probably this year, but she was instead caught off guard by the breakup.
"She thought he was very happy and as far she knew there were no problems between them. To say she was blindsided by their break-up is an understatement," their source said. "She was hoping for a proposal, and was sure that he was the one."
