Ed Sheeran has been working on his upcoming album for some time now. Fans have been looking for some clues on what the album would sound like but the only information available for a while was the post of the singer on his social media accounts.
His last Instagram post as of this writing has a simple but very important message, "to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far." It does not reveal anything but it assures fans that Sheeran is working hard on the album.
Aside from the simple Instagram post, curious fans of the "Thinking Out Loud" singer might be able to get a short audio preview of a song in the upcoming album.
According to The Sun, "the singer's track 'Brother's Blood' will feature exclusively in Grimsby, the film about Sacha Baron Cohen's latest comedy creation Nobby Butcher." The single was co-written by Sheeran with Benny Blanco. Although not a household name, Blanco is known for working on singles for various pop artists such as Rihanna and Justin Beiber.
What makes this news extra special for the fans of Ed Sheeran is the fact that the song will be exclusive to the movie only until the 3rd album is released. The List reports that Sheeran, "won't be making the song available for download or streaming, and it won't even feature on the movie's soundtrack. Instead, fans will only get to hear it if Ed's friend Sacha Baron Cohen plays the song while promoting his new movie, or if fans visit cinemas to see the comedy."
It's an extra special treat for "The Brothers Grimsby" and it could be a boost for the movie and Sheeran himself as they partner in something unique for the fans. The movie is set for US release on March 11 nationwide. Aside from Cohen, the movie is also starred by Mark Strong, Isla Fisher, Rebel Wilson and Penelope Cruz.
