Jon Snow is fully dead or sort of alive, depending on who is asked. But there's a fan theory that Melisandre will resurrect the Winterfell Bastard and now Carice Van Houten is playing spoilers for "Game of Thrones" season 6.
In an interview for Wall Street Journal, the 39-year-old Dutch actress dismissed the speculation that she would play a part in Jon Snow's resurrection, or if he's going to be brought to life at all.
"But Van Houten does promise Melisandre plays a pivotal role, and goes through a sort of 'transformation,'" the article said.
Speaking to The New Daily in June last year, Van Houten still refused to teased spoilers for what will happen to Melisandre and Jon Snow.
"I was doing ADR the other day and then the producer was there and he was saying something that I've heard before, which is quite spectacular, for next year, which I really can't say anything about," she said.
But she did concede that the writers of the show laid out the events for that to happen.
"You've seen her clock Jon Snow, which is a great ending because you think, 'Uh oh, what's going to happen there?'" she said, when Melisandre arrived in The Wall following the death of Stannis.
"You feel that she is concentrating more and more towards Jon Snow ... there are slight hints that something's going to happen."
The theory about Jon Snow's resurrection has been circulating in the web since Kit Harington's character was stabbed multiple times by his brothers in the Night's Watch.
"To sum it up, the theory basically cruxes on the fact that, with Stannis out of the picture, Melisandre might be on the lookout for a new Azor Ahai," said Bustle. "And if you subscribe to the R + L = J theory, Jon looks like a pretty likely candidate for the position."
Watch out for more spoilers for "Game of Thrones" season 6, which will premiere on April 24 on HBO.
