The new season of "Top Gear" was launched Feb. 22, Monday, in Liverpool.
The event was attended by 700 guests who were treated to a clip of new host, Chris Evans, purportedly feeling sick on the race track, according to Daily Mail. However, the clip didn't actually show Evans while vomiting as the clip was cut off just seconds before he did.
The short footage was that of Evans being driven in an exceptionally fast speed by one of his new co-hosts Sabine Schmitz, who is a German racing driver. Evans reportedly requested to stop the ride in middle of the journey when he started feeling queasy, as per The Guardian.
The audience was entertained by the sneak preview. "It went down a storm," said one TV buyer at the launch, according to The Guardian. "The arena was packed and the clip was well received. There was a great reaction to it."
Also featured in the new "Top Gear" sneak peek is Formula One driver Jenson Button, who took Chris Evans for a ride around the Surrey track.
During the launch, Evans was joined by Sabine Schmitz, Matt Le Blanc, Chris Harris, and motoring journalist Rory Reid. Also featured in the back ground is The Stig who was in his usual motoring gear and helmet cover up, according to Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Matt Le Blanc, who was recently announced as one of Chris Evans co-hosts for the "Top Gear" revamp expressed his opinion about the issue of trying to copy or live up to what ex-host Jeremy Clarkson and his team did. The "Friends" star said that "times have changed" and "it wouldn't be smart" to go the same direction as before, according to The Week. "It would be like trying to be Paul McCartney. There is only one Paul McCartney."
