The rumors do not come directly from the developer, but SuperMetalDave64 has a history of accurate predictions and the game coming to Nintendo is highly possible.
Square Enix and Nintendo have reconciled and that has played a big role on Cloud and "Super Smash Bros." It's also a great PR move for both companies. The remake's selling point is its graphics and according to speculations, Nintendo NX is becoming very powerful, which may possibly rival PlayStation 4.
SuperMetalDave64 also added that the tipster is not a developer but said, the source suggested the reason why the two titles will be coming to the next generation console, is because of its capabilities.
