Chapter 156 of the popular cooking manga "Shokugeki No Soma" is already online courtesy of Manga Stream.
The latest chapter chronicles the one-on-one battle of Rentaro from Central and Ryo as representative of Cutting Edge Cooking Research Society. Before any prediction of the upcoming chapters, here's a brief recap of the recent events.
Rentaro brought not one but two cooking equipment to complete his salmon-based recipe. The first equipment was the convection oven so he could perfectly control the temperature. The second equipment is the "salamander" that can heat the ingredients on top.
The judges were amazed the calmness of Rentaro and it was later noted that the Central chef is best at using the modern equipment to bring out the bet in each of his recipe. Rentaro finished his recipe first and called it "Salmon Confit Flamme."
The following chapters will finally focus on Ryo's cooking and there was no indication that he will use a unique equipment to get ahead in the game. However, it doesn't mean that Ryo's at a disadvantage.
As part of Alice's gang, Ryo has been working with some of the best equipment for cooking and knows how to use them. There's even the possibility that Ryo will also take advantage of the equipment Rentaro used to make his latest creation.
User EspumaKun on Reddit noted, "based on the judges' commentary, we know that Ryo was working on a dough/pastry...In either case, I'm going to guess that Ryo wins, and there's going to be some erotic foodgasm where the judges are being hugged and caressed by whatever dough Ryo was making."
This prediction was also echoed at Manga Fox forums where user FourEyedOwl noted, "A chapter with lots of technicalities, oh boy. But it seems Kurokiba will win, because the second one (almost) always wins."
