In time for the 20th anniversary of Pokemon, Nintendo through President and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara announced the release of "Pokemon Sun" and "Pokemon Moon" on the Nintendo 3DS this year.
In its report, Wired said that for the first time, the new Pokemon game will be available in nine languages when it will be released: traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese, Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Korean.
"We hope that through 'Pokemon,' players can overcome language barriers and interact with other players from around the world," CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara said.
Wire added in its report that "Pokemon Sun and Moon" will have the Pokemon Bank, where players of the digital distribution versions will be able to transfer their captured Pokemon to the newer games.
The "Pokemon Sun and Moon" will be developed by Game Freak, the same studio which developed the original games in 1996.
"The Pokemon core series games are the centre of the Pokemon universe and provide some of the most memorable Pokemon moments for our fans," The Pokemon Company International Consumer Marketing senior director, J.C. Smith, said.
"I can't wait to see what fans think of the new adventures they'll find in 'Pokemon Sun' and 'Pokemon Moon,'" he added.
In a related report, Telegraph said that "Pokemon Sun and Moon" would be the "next era of Pokemon games, which means that there will be a new generation of Pokemon. One of the newest Pokemons could be the man-made Pokemon Magearna, who was revealed recently in the magazine Coro Coro and is set to appear in a new Pokemon film.
As to when "Pokemon Sun" and "Pokemon Moon" will be released, there is no definite day yet but according to Telegraph, Nintendo has confirmed that the new game will be coming for Christmas this 2016. "Sun and Moon," accordingly, is slated to be the culmination of Pokemon's 20th anniversary.
