One of the most anticipated anime movies of the year is the upcoming film based on the popular manga/anime series "One Piece." Officially titled as "One Piece Film Gold," the movie is set to be released in Japanese theatres this July 23 according to My Anime List. When released, the movie based on the highly popular anime TV series will be its 13th feature film.
As of this writing, the official plot of the film has not been revealed. However, the title itself is a good indication on the characters involved in the film. On the 13th film iteration, Luffy and the gang might be against Gol D. Roger who was regarded as one of the strongest pirates ever.
Additional clues on the upcoming film were also recently released. Although no official word came out, costume images of the characters were recently unveiled. The costumes are already available for viewing at Anime News Network and they were designed no less by the manga creator himself, Eiichiro Oda. For the film according to the anime news site, "the designs feature the Straw Hat crew in both black leather and white suit outfits, as well as their 'Kintaro' and sunbathing outfits."
Another important piece of the puzzle that could have a great effect on the film is the recent report of from onepiecegold.com that follows the latest rumors about the manga and the upcoming movie. According to the fan site, the movie will be set in an entertainment ship big enough to be called a city. The ship is under the guidance and leadership of Gildo Tesoro who is practically the president of the ship because it's also regarded as an independent nation. The multiple costume design by Oda practically complements this piece of information because Luffy and the rest of the crew will have to adapt to the surroundings of a very large entertainment center.
