Just a few weeks ago, a teaser to the "Ghostbusters 3" trailer gave fans a glimpse of how big their enemy will be - as cops and soldiers prepare for a battle.
Finally, the full trailer was unleashed and Paul Feig selected a group of die-hard fans dressed up inspired by the classic horror comedy to get a first screening to the trailer.
According to EW, the director was joined by producer Ivan Reitmen, who also directed the "Ghostbusters" film back in 1984. Katie Dippold, who co-wrote the film, was also present at the screening. They all felt relieved when fans requested for a re-showing of the "Ghostbusters 3" trailer.
"I'm so happy for today, to have you guys applauding the trailer," Dippold said. "This man [Feig] has put himself out there, getting the worst tweets. So to see this warm energy from the fans means a lot. He's been thinking of you guys first and foremost."
Paul Feig stood by his decision to feature four funny women in "Ghostbusters 3" - Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. To add some eye candy for women audience, the "Bridesmaids" director decided to cast Chris Hemsworth in the reboot.
The Aussie actor, who is famous for playing Thor in his standalone movies and "Avengers" series, can now be seen portraying the role of a secretary in the upcoming comedy. Aside from adding a Hollywood heartthrob in the remake, Feig was able to convince some of the original cast of "Ghostbusters" including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, and Ernie Hudson.
In the "Ghostbusters 3" trailer, Melissa, Kristen, Kate, and Leslie were finally introduced and it gave fans a glimpse of what their character will be in the reboot. Wiig is a particle physicist, McCarthy studies paranormal activities, McKinnon is a strange engineer, and Jones is an MTA worker.
Everyone's beloved green ghost, Slimer, will also appear in the reboot and there was a scene in the clip which showed Melissa being possessed by it. Check out the new team in the "Ghostbusters 3" trailer below:
