Though HTC hasn't announced any flagship phone in the last Mobile World Congress, photos of their supposed next top-of-the-line mobile device leaked recently.
According to a report by The Verge, in a Twitter post by user OnLeaks, it can be seen that a prototype of the new HTC has a USB-C port, a fingerprint reader and a headphone jack which was repositioned at the top. Just minutes after the initial pictures of HTC 10, the same user posted again, this time, rendered photos of the said device in a silver tone.
It is expected that the new HTC phone set for launching this year will be competing with recently released Android in the market and those that are yet to be distributed this year. Despite the on-going head on head competition among phone manufacturers in producing bigger screen sizes, HTC managed to produce this prototype with only around 5.15 inches in screen size.
Aside from the smaller screen size which is QHD in display, the HTC said rumored to sport other specifications such as a Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU, a 4GB RAM and a 12MP camera, Droid Life reported.
It can be recalled that previous flagship phones of HTC were named with "One M," but based on several reports circulating recently, it seems that the company will be dropping the naming scheme by naming its new phone simply as "HTC 10." Although a confirmation needs to be heard by HTC yet, majority suggests that the phone manufacturer will be pushing through with the new designation.
Droid Life backed up this move, if ever it will be true, by noting that this naming scheme HTC previously used in their phones didn't catch up so well compared to the "Galaxy S" series of Samsung. Shifting to a new name might potentially attract other market.
