An update on the latest Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's performance doesn't sound like good news.

While both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a lot of new features that make it one of the hottest devices around, they both are lacking in speed and could be the phone's most negative feature.

The problem comes down to one key thing: inconsistency," as reported by Forbes. "In new benchmarks published by respected speed testing software Antutu, the company found CPU performance varied by a perfectly acceptable 5% but the difference in graphics performance between models was as great as 32%."

The main reason for this inconsistency is the decision of Samsung to put different chipsets in both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The Exynos 8890 and the Qualcomm 820 are very similar when it comes to its central processing unit but the difference lies in its graphics processing unit. The Snapdragon 820 chipset is reportedly 32-percent faster according to AnTuTu.

"The Exynos 8890 is Samsung’s custom processor," as noted by Digital Trends. "It’s an octa-core made up of four Cortex-A53 cores and four Samsung-made Exynos M1 cores. On the other hand, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 is a quad-core processor made up four Qualcomm-made Kyro cores — two high-performance and two low-power."

The chipsets were made specifically to cater to present day consumers, especially since the chips have developed a lot over the eyars, that are more focused on checking their email, take photos, browse, text and so much more. The main focus has shifted to making the whole device experience snappier.

In other news, PC Advisor reported that those who pre-ordered the new smartphones way ahead of everyone else get a perk. "Customers who pre order before 5 March will also be rewarded with a special early delivery on 8 March so they can experience the new S7 devices before anybody else," announced Samsung, as reported on the site.

They will also be reportedly getting a free Gear VR headset to go with it.
