The latest update by Sony on the Playstation 5 doesn't sound like good news.
The company put the rumors to rest when Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida tweeted on Playstation France's Twitter that a Playstation 5 gaming console does not exist.
According to Yibada, 2016 is reportedly the year for the Playstation 5's soft launch but it won't be the console that gamers have gotten so used to seeing. The new system is rumored to be a special virtual relaity cloud gaming super system.
This speculation was reportedly put together when the company had filed a patent for a glove-based controller that also contained plans for a cloud gaming module. With virtual reality being the next big thing in gaming, the module is said to connect to a network then to a computer that is connected to gloves and a head set.
The possibility of virtual reality being the next venture of the gaming industry doesn't seem too far behind as various companies have developed their own versions of consumer VR Tech with the gaming market in mind.
"So what does a PS5 game look like?" wondered Paul Ross, Chief Technical Officer of the Three Fields Entertainment, on Playstation Life. " With PS4 we've seen some fidelity put into the worlds, but PS5's going to be about more dynamic worlds, far more interactive worlds that are more believable in the way they behave."
While the latest update by Yoshida may have calmed the demand for news on the Playstation 5, AMD's Devinar Kumar's hint that a new console may be coming soon will still keep up gamers' hopes.
In other news, Sony has reportedly added a new safety and health notice on the use of the upcoming Playstation VR. According to Eurogamer, children under the age of 12 should not use the headsets. Sony, however, wasn't the only company to release a notice as other companies like Facebook and HTC have also done so.
