Ryan Reynolds' "Deadpool" movie has gone over the $300 million mark at the domestic box office.
In a report by Forbes, the film is the third R-rated movie to gain $300 million at the local box office. The "Deadpool" movie is also the 57th film to reach the milestone.
In 24 days, the "Deadpool" movie gained $311.16 million. It has become one of the biggest grossing films in America. It still earned $16.4 million during its fourth weekend.
It has also earned $673.2 million globally. It has beaten "Hancock" ($624m), "The Incredibles" ($631m), "Thor: The Dark World" ($644m), "Big Hero 6" ($657m) as well as "Man of Steel" ($668m).
The "Deadpool" movie's success was astounding since it was played in 2D with an R-rating. Moreover, it also got banned in China. This would have helped with its viewership.
It was previously reported that "Deadpool 2" may already be in development. Ryan Reynolds has revealed how Cable will show up in the "Deadpool" movie sequel. He even suggested actors such as Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, and Keira Knightley for the part.
Ryan Reynolds, who portrays the anti-hero, has previously revealed that he is in favor of creating an "X-Force" movie.
"There's so much material to mine in just the 'X-Men' universe ... In the future, if we're doing a bunch more 'Deadpool' movies, we're really going to explore the 'X-Men' a lot," he admitted in an interview with Filmstarts, via Collider.
"We'll see. And maybe 'X-Force' - 'X-Force' is my priority. I really want to get that in."
Meanwhile, CinemaBlend reported that Amazon has revealed the Blu-ray release date for the "Deadpool" movie. It is said to be available by May 20, 2016.
The announcement did not include information on the special features for the Blu-ray version of the film, however. It may still contain the usual behind-the-scenes clips and commentary, though.
