The translated scanlation of "Tokyo Ghoul" chapter 67 is now available at Manga Park. The chapter features the planned attack on Rue Island as CCG is finally mounting their offense to end the Aogiri Tree once and for all. Before any predictions and speculations on the upcoming chapters, here's a recap of the recent events in the manga series.
The chapter starts with a concentrated attack of CCG in Rue Island. Even with the initial defense, the CCG is pushing through with their well coordinated attacks. On the other hand, the mainland is preparing for a counter attack of the Aogiri Tree in an effort to save, Eto. The latest chapter indicates that Eto is currently imprisoned in the heavily secured facility in Cochlea.
As the CCG prepares for the attack, Ken Kaneki remembers his time in Cochlea as he was recruited by Arima. The chapter ends with Aogiri Tree outside Cochlea preparing for an attack and while Ken Kaneki cracking his fingers in anticipation of the offensive strike.
The upcoming chapters will feature the success and failure of the attacks in Cochlea and Rue Island. However, there will be individual victories especially on Rue Island as the special investigation team tries to save Mutsuki from captivity.
On the other hand, Ken Kaneki will get to meet some of the most powerful members of Aogiri Tree attacking Cochlea. The next chapters will reveal if he will be fighting against them or for them. But based on the reader feedbacks, it looks like it's going to be Arima vs. Kaneki.
User TheLuffySmile from Manga Helpers predicts that the next chapters would finally be the unmasking of Ken Kaneki, "Ken removing his glasses and cracking his knuckle felt to me like he was finally removing the last part of his disguise, completing his transformation into Kaneki and getting ready to take on the CCG."
User Radical-Raccoon predicts that Kaneki will be fighting for the ghouls, "...it's not set in stone or anything, but it's a fair assumption to make that Haise/Kaneki is the one that set off the alarms. Just prior to this happening, Kaneki seemed to break down to some extent, but reaffirmed himself to set out to do whatever it is that he has been planning."
