Drake's new album for 2016 "Views From The 6," has been highly anticipated by fans and it is reportedly on the verge of release in April, as claimed by the Toronto rapper's friend and producer, Noah "40" Shebib, according to Ecumenical News.
"We're getting very, very close," said Shebib. "The time will come when Drake's ready to pull the trigger, but for us it's just a balance of finding that space to make such a project that's based around our city, and then also we come out here and escape some of the harsh winter and find a good creative space."
In 2014, Drake announced his new album for 2016 and according to speculations, the record may have "reflective tones" of his hometown. "Views From The 6" is the artist's fourth studio album and it follows his last album, "Nothing Was The Same."
The rapper has been updating fans on social media, all throughout the making of the upcoming album. For the past couple of months, he also has reportedly locked himself in the recording studio with Shebib, to fine tune the record and put the finishing touches.
"I'll give you a date later on, just know that we're working," said Drake to fans, during an interview with The Verge. "We're working."
The record will reportedly feature other artists, such as Beyoncé, Willow Smith, Bol-1da and Shebib.
Meanwhile, Drake's crew "OVOXO" has amassed quite an impressive roster, since starting OVO Sound in 2012. Artists in the collaboration group include PartyNextDoor, Roy Woods, OB O'Briend, Majid Jordan, iLoveMakonnen and The Weekend. Drake would be the "OVO" and The Weekend as "XO."
"OVO" stands for "October's Very Own," because Drake was born Oct. 24 and what's great about the acts is, everyone has their own unique sound, reported Design and Trend.
"Summer Sixteen" is the first single to be released from Drake's new album for 2016, entitled "Views From The 6."
