OnePlus is currently working on a new smartphone, OnePlus 3, which is largely dubbed as a "flagship killer" for all its reportedly impressive specs and features.
Several reports indicate that "flagship killer" OnePlus 3 will be released in the second quarter of 2016 and according to Vine Report, much of the time in making the OnePlus 3 is focused on the redesigning of how the device looks as consumers are also looking forward for an overhauled design.
And although OnePlus has been mum about any details to the design of OnePlus 3, Vine Report said that various concept images have already surfaced online and if it were anything near the real design, from the looks of it, OnePlus 3's design will really be promising.
The report highlighted a certain concept image published by Chinese blog called Mobile-Dad where the OnePlus 3 is seen as a "sleek device with an elegant, chamfered metal frame."
"The device is said to feature a physical home button which will also double as a fingerprint scanner. On the front of the device, the front camera is said to be situated on the top right side with a speaker grille in the middle part. The rear of the device shows a camera with a dual-tone LED flash," the report wrote.
The redesign, as Tech Times reported, will "complement" OnePlus 3's Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 powerhouse and boasting of 4 GB RAM. As to the hardware specifications, Tech Times said the new smartphone from OnePlus will sport a 5.5-inch full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels). The handset's rear camera is also expected to have a 20-megapixel rear camera.
Meanwhile, a recent report by The Verge said that OnePlus, to get a rare product placement, has paid more than $300,000 to get its OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X devices featured in the TV series, "House of Cards." OnePlus now follows the steps of other Chinese companies like Oppo and Vivo Electronics which scored product placements in "America's Next Top Model" and "The Martian" respectively.
