The New York Knicks seem eager to trade Carmelo Anthony before the NBA’s Feb. 23 trade deadline and reportedly have contacted several teams, including the Lebron Jame's Cleveland Cavaliers.
Also, it shows that there's still some good chance that Carmelo-to-Cleveland exchange will happen between Knicks and Cavs.
But according to Shelburne and Stein, there’s a trade-off. The Knicks might want Kevin Love in exchange which Cavs doesn't not agree.
Anthony marked a five-year, $124-million extension with the Knicks in 2014. He's set to make $25 million this season and pocket $55 million the accompanying two seasons, including a player option for 2018-19.
Anthony has a no-trade clause but is willing to waive it to be traded to Celtics, Clippers or Cavs.
Since coming into the NBA, Anthony has been named an All-Star nine times and an All-NBA Team member six times. While playing for Denver, he led the Nuggets to the playoffs every year from 2004 to 2010, winning two division titles in that span.
