A 17-year old teen mom in North Carolina has beaten her 26-year old son to death on Tuesday. Daniela Villarreal was arrested and is now facing charges of murder and felony child abuse. The infant died of physical injuries.

According to investigators, a 911 call came in at around 4.20 a.m. reporting an unresponsive infant. Paramedics rushed to Canterwood Drive and tranferred Luis Miguel Jr. to Carolinas Medical Center-University where he was pronounced dead.

Charlotte Observer reported that the authorities created a probe and they found out that the infant, who was born last December 11, had succumbed to body injuries resulting from physical assault. The mother voluntarily spoke with the police on Tuesday night and was arrested after the interview.

As reported by the Daily Mail, when she was about six months pregnant by September 2014, the 17-year old soon-to-be-mom posted a status in her Facebook account complaining about her unable to take classes and work because of her unborn son.

Villarreal posted, "Cant wait til this little Boy comes and Im able to do what i want!! I want to be successful in life!!' Villarreal wrote, adding that her goal is to 'get stacks' so she could help her son out."

However, during her entire pregnancy, she posted several photos of her baby bump and captioned it with how excited she is to finally see her son. Three weeks after she gave birth, everything went upside down. She had murdered her helpless baby boy.

This is not the first time a mother killed her child. In fact, according to statistics, the United States ranks high on the list of countries whose parents kill their children. The infanticide rate in the US is 11th in the world for infants under the age of 1 year. Meanwhile, 82% of non-parent suspects in kiling children are males.
