Health and wellness are on everyone's list this year, and trendsetters (whoever they are) seem to clearly know it well. Popular online media source The Huffington Post has compiled some of the "weirdest and wackiest" health trends for this year, from coffee with butter to morning parties.
Butter in Coffee
The Bulletproof Coffee was invented in 2009 by Dave Asprey, an entrepreneur and wellness advocate. The recipe for this coffee involves low-mold coffee beans, MCT oil, and unsalted butter. This year, the first Bulletproof Coffee shop opens in Los Angeles. Frank Lipman, an integrative doctor who has collaborated with actress and health buff Gwyneth Paltrow, notes that despite the cofffee's high caloric content (450 calories), it gives all-ay energy and mind clarity.
Fitness Vacations
Fitness vacations are becoming a thing- think going to the gym, but going on a vacation just to do it. Such has been branded as "fitness travel", and many programs for this type of luxury have been sprouting like mushrooms (Anywhere Fit, FitLife Cruise, etc.).
Morning Parties
Imagine a party minus the night club, the alcoholic drinks, and the heavy makeup, to be replaced with getting up at 7 a.m., coffee and wheatgrass, and workout attire. Such parties are energizing and encourage making new friends while working out and pumping up the cardio. These events are known as "sober raves".
Cricket Flour
Everything gluten-free was the trend during the last few years, and gluten is found in conventionally produced flour. Now, cricket flour- flour from pulverized crickets- has become a trend. Crickets are known to be loaded with iron, protein, vitamin B12, and calcium.
Bone Broth
Bone broth s more than just boiling beef, fish or poultry bones- it takes at least 4 hours to boil the boes until they break down. The benefits of bone broth include shiny hair, better digestion, and improved pain and inflammation in the joints.
