American rapper, songwriter, and currently designer Kanye West just launched his Adidas Originals Collection at the New York Fashion Week. The sports clothing company confirmed last year that Kanye will be working with the popular sports brand
A spokeperson for Adidas said, "For 2014, we welcome to the adidas family, one of the most influential artists of this generation - 21 times Grammy Award winner, Kanye West. He crosses music and fashion like no other, and together, with our history in fashion and streetwear culture, we will create a new chapter. Details to follow."
In an interview with Style.com, Kanye talked about designing, working with Adidas, and dressing his wife.
"I don't want to disrespect designers by calling myself a designer. I just think I have a vision of something that I want to do," the rapper said. He also stated that Adidas placed boundaries and they had to learn to work together.
"It's learning," when asked about creating clothes for his wife Kim Kardashian, "She was always my muse, now she's become other designers' muses."
Furthermore, Kanye spoke about how "fashion people" and their so-called friends turned their backs on him when he married Kim. "We looked at the photographs together and she improved my style, we improved each other," he said.
The controversial couple has been in a scuffle lately with West's ex-girlfriend Amber Rose. The feud started when Rose criticized rapper Tyga for his rumored relationship with Kylie Jenner; claiming that he left her friend Blac Chyna for the young reality TV star. Khloe Kardashian then tweeted on her half-sister's defense which caused the all-out Twitter war. Things escalated when Rose called Kim Kardashian a "whore" and Kanye West decided that it's time to get involved.
The 37-year-old rapper, who was in a relationship with Amber Rose from 2008 until 2010, said that the model is just soaking up the moment. He added, "If Kim had dated me when I first wanted to be with her, there would be no Amber Rose." The rapper also insinuated that he had to thoroughly cleanse himself by taking a lot of showers after his relationship with Amber Rose before he got on with Kim.
