IHOP will be celebrating National Pancake Day this Tuesday, March 3, 2015.
This year, restaurants will be giving away free buttermilk pancakes from 7a.m. to 10p.m. to encourage donations to the nonprofit Children’s Miracle Network, which reportedly directly benefits Miami Children’s Hospital, according to the news outlet Sun Sentinel.
Social media users are already anticipating the madness that comes with the good cause.
“The fact that national pancake day is tomorrow. ihop is about to be so packed,” wrote Twitter user Candace.
Fellow Twitter user kelsi commented, “There should be a late start tomorrow because of national pancake day.”
If you make a $5 donation while you eat your free pancakes, IHOP will reportedly give you a free $5-off coupon that you can use for your next meal at the pancake house. The donations will reportedly go to helping critically ill children the treatment they need at Miami Children’s Hospital, which will soon change its name to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital after the pro golfer.
The 289-bed hospital is reportedly the largest pediatric neurology center in the country, with outpatient centers in Miramar, Weston and Palm Beach Garden and five in Miami, according to the CMN website.
IHOP reportedly stated that the national goal for National Pancake Day 2015 is $3.5 million, according to the news outlet Central Florida Future.
The tradition of National Pancake Day reportedly began back in 2006. The restaurant chain has reportedly raised almost $16 million to support charities in local communities, and IHOP clearly has no plans to stop doing good just yet.
“In all seriousness, I’m just looking forward to national pancake day at hop,” wrote Twitter user Deanna.
